Final Blog Entry

This is my last blog entry on Blogger. I have learnt loads of new skills such as editing software, DSLR cameras and more. I have also completed my four evaluation questions to summarise my project and used a range of technologies to do so: YouTube, Soundcloud, InfoGram etc.

I have edited my final music video together using Sony Movie Studios. I encountered no major problems using the program, and if there were any, I Google'd the solutions. What I have learnt from using the program is to create a timeline and add transitions between footage to create a music video 'look'. I added a black filter to create brand identity with other products to conform to my audience research.

I have completed my first two evaluation questions. The first technology that I used was Prezi and I used this by adding videos and images to slides, supporting the visuals with a voice over to create a coherent feel between the two. For my second question, I created an interactive YouTube video with videos/images/voice recordings to create the best possible question. This will influence my other questions because I want to use a different range of technologies so I will possibly create a podcast through the technology SoundCloud as this is an innovative new technology that his risen in the past number of years. I will also create an InfoGram chart with videos to combine two superb technologies for maximum visual interest.

I have been taking some images to create brand identity with my main product. I took these images to use on the ancillary products because my music video uses the same props and setting choices; the props I use conform to the conventions of the genre and adhere to my audience research. What I have learnt by taking these images that the images are a lot stronger using the Canon 600D in contrast to the images on my first draft. This will influence my work because it will allow me to construct higher quality products.

I have started and continued editing my footage at college using Final Cut Express. I am finding it fairly easy to use but I really want to edit my footage at home and I have had real problems doing this. I tried import the footage onto a massive SD card but when I looked at the footage at home, the footage didn't upload to my editing software (probably because of the file type). The way I will combat this is to continue editing at college and hope that it works out. If there are any problems, I will possibly look into buying a DSLR after extensive research.

I have produced my first draft website and digipaks. They were not as good I was hoping to be because I was continuing the research and planning phase along with creating the products so I believed they suffered in that sense. I will gain target audience feedback to see what they believe could be improved for the products.
