Evaluation

Initial Response To Questions:

Question 1:
The first question seems relatively straight forward. For this question, I will need to evaluate how successful new media technologies were in regards to all four stages of the project.

Question 2:
The second question also seems relatively straight forward. I will need to evaluate how successful my main product combines with my digipak and website page. I also need to explain how I was inspired by other products which I can compare my own to.

Question 3:
The third question once again seems straight forward. For this question, I will need to evaluate what I have learnt from my audience feedback and discuss the different methods in which I gained the feedback.

Question 4:
The fourth and final question is also a simple task. I will need to evaluate how my products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products. I will do this by comparing to real media products and other various methods.

Introduction To The Evaluation:

-To get to this stage of the project, I completed research, planning and constructed my product. Over the course, I hoped to gain the skills of being able to use a good quality camera to a high standard and gain the skill of being able to edit together video footage with the use of a video editing software. I would like to think, that I have achieved this.
-My genre is the sub-genre of alternative rock; indie rock. My artist is a new band called The 1975 and the song is one of their 'less-known' called 'Me' which depicts strong lyrics which could be interpreted in several ways; the way I depicted the video was shown through my narrative in a slightly less emotional/strong way.
-To evaluate everything, I answered four evaluation questions in various technologies such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Prezi & more. These technologies were fantastic technologies to use because they allowed me to produce visually appealing and interesting videos to watch and listen to.

Evaluation Questions:

Question 1: How Did You Use New Media Technologies In The Research, Planning, Construction And Evaluation Of Your Project?

NOTE: I used a Prezi slideshow to create this evaluation question and used voiceovers to comment on slides. The actual written essay was just under 3000 words! To create this question, I initially wrote up the essay and then created voice recordings of all the paragraphs. Finally, I added the pictures to the slides and added the voice overs to each individual slide.

Question 2: How Effective Is The Combination Of Your Main Product And Ancillary Tasks?

NOTE: I created an interactive YouTube video to create this evaluation question because it allowed me to support my audio with visuals to create cohesion. The actual written essay was just under 1300 words. Initially, I wrote up the question in essay format and then I created voice recordings of all the paragraphs. Finally, I added the voice recordings to my video editor and supported my speech with videos and pictures.

Question 3: What Have You Learnt From Your Audience Feedback?

NOTE: For this question, I created a podcast to summarise what I have learnt from my audience feedback and to use a different technology from my other choices.

Question 4: In What Ways Does Your Product Use, Develop Or Challenge Forms Or Conventions Of Real Media Products?

NOTE: For this task, I created two YouTube videos. One was a very interactive podcast supported with images/video/text, whilst the other was a 'Hypercam' video recording converted into YouTube. The actual written essay was just under 1900 words.
